Is ad creative without a shoot cheaper than traditional production?
Last updated
It can be, because a project that does not need a new shoot can avoid crew, location and equipment costs. The actual saving depends on the assets you already have and the work the campaign needs.

Which production costs can you avoid?
A traditional production may need casting, a location, equipment, travel and a crew. If approved product images or existing footage can support the idea, those arrangements may not be necessary.
That does not make creative production free. Concepts, scripts, design, editing, sound, revisions and quality checks still require time and judgment. A complex product scene can also require significant work even without a camera crew.
How do I compare two production proposals?
Compare the finished work, not just whether a shoot is included. One proposal may cover a single edit while another includes different openings, static layouts and placement versions. Ask what you will actually receive and what counts as a revision.
- Which concepts and deliverables are included?
- Are variations genuinely different ideas or just resized copies?
- Who provides the source assets and checks usage rights?
- What approvals, revisions and delivery formats are covered?
When is a shoot worth keeping?
A shoot may be the better choice when real demonstrations, founder footage or original customer stories are central to the campaign. Those assets can then be reused in later edits.
Choose the approach that supports a truthful, useful ad. Talk to OMNI about your existing material and the work you need rather than assuming one method will always be cheaper.
